SOUTHGATE — An unsung heroine is being recognized at a school in the city Ruth Kemp, with the Southgate Adult and Community Education’s Asher School program, is the first recipient of the National Association of Sports and Physical Education Unsung Hero Award. Kemp is the athletic director and an academic adviser and teacher. She will accept the award in Indianapolis in March.


2010 State Basketball Tournament

Basketball Season is here and it is time to prepare for the basketball tournament in March. This year's final four will be held at Grand Blanc School on March 13th. To qualify for the final four teams must win a playoff games.

Applications for the state tournament are available below with a deadline date of February 5, 2010. At that point the divisions will be determined, and plans for the playoff games will begin.

Also included below is information regarding the Tip Off Classic and the All-Star Game.
